Position Summary: Responsible for the day-to-day activities in the school-age group room. They supervise school-age children, plan, and deliver creative, educational and fun activities in the afternoon and evening. Works with Assistant Director and Shelter staff to plan evening family activities as well as snow day activities for families in Shelter. The After School teacher understandsthe importance of Trauma-Informed Care and how the operations of the afterschool programservices underserved populations with diverse needs. Primary Responsibilities: Creates and implements weekly lesson plans for the school-age children.. Ensures cleanliness, proper arrangement, organization and stimulation in indoor/outdoor learning environments used by the school-age children. Effectively mediates disputes between children, staff, parents and other caregivers. Experience/Requirements Must be 21 years old or older. High school diploma or GED required, some college preferred.
