Position Summary:

As the Reservations Sales Manager, you will orchestrate and lead a highly effective team of reservation sales agents and will manage all department functions for Edgewood Tahoe Resort.

Essential Functions:

  • Schedules, trains, and mentors the Reservations Team.
  • Assesses training needs – listens to and scores agent calls, coaches, and mentors agents to perform to Forbes/Aspire Service Standards.
  • Oversees and audits the service standards and operations of the reservations department. Regularly checks the input and the quality of data (segmentation, denials tracking, etc.) points.
  • Manages all payroll functions.
  • Holds the Reservations Sales Supervisor and agents accountable for:
    • Understanding callers unique guest room needs and matching those needs with ideal features that will benefit the guest experience.
    • Learning the guests needs and assisting in enhancing the experience at the resort by offering and providing information on amenities available to them.
    • Developing an itinerary of any services booked by the guest which, not limited too, may include Adventure Shop excursions, dining reservations, golf tee times, and spa services.
    • Ability to perform all Reservation Sales Agent duties and responsibilities. Listen and communicate effectively with a wide range of callers, close the sale, and input detailed information in the PMS and Navis systems accurately and efficiently.
    • Foster superior performance, exhibit excellence in cultivating the guest experience and succeed in the execution of the Edgewood vision.
  • Follows a selling strategy as determined by Revenue Management and reacts to business changing demands with a focus on maximizing revenue.
  • Is fully knowledgeable about hotel guest rooms, rates, promotions, amenities, programs, hotel facilities and services.
  • Manages systems that are set up within the reservations department to ensure accurate handling and monitoring of phone calls.
  • Periodically evaluates ongoing programs/promotions to ensure that they reflect accurate information.
  • Participates in weekly revenue meetings to maintain communication of strategies and need periods.
  • Checks forecasting reports based on statistics codes (Market, Source, Rate Code etc.), reservations which are wrongly tagged should be amended.
  • Verifies if reservation confirmation letters?are accurate and appropriate for various promotions .
  • Creates and tests package set-up and works with various departments to ensure reservation and P&L accuracy.
  • Verifies promotions loaded into PMS/CRS to ensure their accuracy.
  • Monitors PMS/CRS/RMS/Navis integrations to ensure they are in sync.
  • Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications/Special Skills:

  • 2+ years of hands-on Hotel Reservation Management and/or Front Office Management experience required.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Hotel Management preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership in building high-performance teams.
  • Ability to work well unsupervised.
  • Must be a positive team leader, can multi-task and is goal driven.
  • 2+ years of experience in guest service field is required.
  • High-level command of Excel.
  • Prior budgeting and financial experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of hotel technology: PMS, Channel Manager, Opera, Navis, and SynXis is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively work with all departments in the resort.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills needed.
  • Ability to work varied shifts when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
  • Fluent oral and written English required.
