The Peer Support Specialist serves as a primary provider of Assertive Community Treatment to individuals experiencing severe mental illness or dual diagnosis.   Benefits Health insurance as low as $20.00 per month for individuals. Family and dependent plans are also available. Sign-on bonus of $1,500.00 included with the first paycheck. Nine paid holidays. Accrue up to 20 days of paid time off (PTO) per year from year one. PTO is immediately available upon accrual. Participation in the Virginia Retirement System. Professional development assistance provided at no cost. Summary of Essential Functions Provides direct Peer Recovery services to individuals participating in Assertive Community Treatment. Provides emergency and crisis intervention and coordinates for hospital prescreening. Assists in the provision of medical services, such as delivering and monitoring medications. Takes an active role in fulfilling program needs and maintaining individual and team productivity standards. Provides case and program consultation to individuals, organizations, agencies, groups, etc., that are involved with Valley Community Services Board consumers. Minimum Qualifications All applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications in order to be considered qualified for the position: Associates Degree in Human Services One year direct clinical experience with mentally ill population QMHP-Adult, QPPMH, or QMHP-Trainee certification CPRS Certification Valid Virginia driver’s license with an acceptable driving record   Position Requirements   Salary Information   EOE Statement Valley Community Services Board is an equal employment opportunity employer.
