Description

Cumberland Mountain CSB is seeking an individual for a full-time Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Case Manager position to provide case management services to individuals with substance use disorders. Duties include planning the delivery of case management services to meet assessed needs, linking individuals to planned services and resources within the community, coordinating services and plans with collateral agencies and providers, monitoring individuals' progress towards identified goals, advocating for needed resources and services for individuals, providing basic counseling services, performing all administrative functions necessary to carry out the above services with an emphasis on records documentation and the timely submission of required service reports, managing aggressive behavior of individuals receiving services utilizing approved techniques, participating in continuing education programs to enhance professional competency, and transporting individuals receiving services to needed services and related functions, as necessary. Primary location is undetermined at this time.

 
Position Requirements

Bachelor's degree in human services field and one year of direct service experience working with individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders or co-occurring disorders is required. Certified Substance Abuse Counselor-Assistant (CSAC-A) certification is required. Valid driver's license and good driving record also required. Good computer skills in order to meet recordkeeping requirements. Must pass all CMCSB background screenings.

About the Organization CMCSB was formed in 1972 as a Chapter 10 Community Services Board under Virginia law. CMCSB provides mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance abuse treatment services to the residents of Buchanan, Russell, and Tazewell Counties. At the present time, CMCSB operates over twenty locations, to include outpatient offices, mental health recovery programs, group homes and day support programs for intellectually disabled individuals, and a residential alcohol and drug treatment program. In addition, CMCSB has several services that are provided directly in an individual's home or in a supported environment. CMCSB also provides a 24-hour crisis team to assist community agencies and individuals in crisis situations. CMCSB employs approximately 500 employees, which include full-time and part-time employees, as well as individuals receiving services who are employed to work in various day programs.
