Under the supervision of the Forester and the Assistant Forester, the Forestry Worker is responsible for removal of dead, hazardous, and dying trees; thinning stands of trees; removing brush and slash in the Association's common areas; tree planting; conduct pile burning opperations; operating equipment; and implementing the property owner chipping program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Forestry Worker I
Operate, or assist with operating, woodchipper, chain saw, and other related equipment and tools as directed.
Cut trees and brush in TDA common areas. Cut wood into firewood or logs. Either pile or chip brush and slash. Burn piles in either spring or fall.
Assist with stocking and filling orders at the Association wood yard.
Chip and remove slash from roadside under chipping program.
Provide excellent customer service to customers, employees, and property owners.
Tree planting as part of the Associations reforestation program.

Forestry Worker II - Above duties plus:
Must be proficient with the use of a chain saw and tree falling as certified by Forestry Worker Crew Leader.
Ability to operate equipment. Equipment includes bob cat, water truck, backhoe, front-end loader, tracked chipper and/or dozer.

Forestry Worker III - Above duties plus:
Possession of a Class B driver license is required. Tanker and air brake options required with the Class B license.
Ability to operate all equipment. Equipment includes dump truck, water truck, backhoe, front-end loader, tracked chipper, grapple truck, and dozer.
An apprentice tree climber; or responsible for general daily equipment maintenance of chainsaw and chipper fleet, such as pre- and post-trip inspections, daily service requirements, and coordination of necessary repair.
Act as crew supervisor in absence of the crew leader.
