Share Email Opening Title Scheduling Coordinator - Call Center  Category Patient Services   Description LOCATION:  FORT WAYNE, IN   POSITION SUMMARY: Midwest Eye Consultants is in immediate need of an organized and dedicated scheduler to join our team. The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for providing exceptional customer service through patient communication and scheduling efficiencies through accurate data collection.   Position Requirements ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES: Schedule appointments for patients. Answer telephone promptly and in a polite and professional manner. Obtain and enter accurate demographic information into the practice management software. Schedule appointments for multiple practices through inbound calls to our dedicated scheduling line. Answer questions and offer other information, as requested, to provide patient-focused service and a positive impression of the organization. Act as a liaison for the patients and the practices. Direct calls to other departments as needed. Use sound judgment in handling calls. Triage patients’ needs and know when to escalate calls to physicians or the practice manager. Service Patients Handle outbound calls to remind patients of upcoming appointments and follow up on missed appointments. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school graduate, or equivalent Previous medical office experience is preferred but not required COMPETENCIES: Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information. Ability to communicate effectively on the telephone. Ability to handle a “call center” environment: work quickly and multi-task. Ability to exercise good judgement to handle calls appropriately. Ability to demonstrate good customer service. Ability to handle inbound and outbound calls. Ability to learn basic computer programs and processes. ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical Activity: Talking, Hearing. Physical requirements: Sedentary work. Involves sitting most of the time.
