The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures furthers the understanding, celebration, and preservation of cinema through inclusive and accessible exhibitions, screenings, programs, initiatives, and collections. Welcoming visitors from Los Angeles and around the world, the Museum works in active partnership with motion picture artists and specialists, scholars, staff, and diverse communities to contextualize and challenge dominant narratives around cinema, inspiring discourse, connection, joy, and discovery.

Reporting to the Manager of Safety & Security, the Safety & Security Supervisor will supervise shift operations, conduct daily briefings, posts checks, and train employees. You will also uphold the highest standards by delivering first-class customer service through regular contact with employees, guests, visitors, and clients.

You Will:

  • Supervise staff to include training and coaching via verbal and/or written communications.
  • Analyze problems, identify causes, and implement results-oriented solutions.
  • Review daily schedule and personnel deployment at the beginning of the watch. Document changes to daily schedule, additional details, and special events.
  • Assist with scheduling and staffing all vacancies while on duty.
  • Provide written reports and/or logs pertaining to daily activities during the shift.
  • Ensure all guest and employee concerns are reported.
  • Complete proper investigations with written recommendations.
  • Implement and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Work on special projects and/or reports.
 
Position Requirements

You Have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent certificate of completion.
  • 1+ years of experience as a Security Officer Supervisor required.
  • Experience supervising and mobilizing resources effectively.
  • Excellent motivational, leadership and coaching skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service.
  • Flexibility in schedule to perform operational duties in an emergency.
  • Thorough knowledge of security and emergency operations.
  • The capacity to work quickly and efficiently under high-pressure situations.
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion.

 

Other Requirements:

  • Full vaccination against COVID-19 is required, including any booster vaccinations as applicable.

The expected base hourly wage for this role is $24.00. The actual base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
