Senior Programmer Analyst

Description

The Senior Programmer is responsible for programming and software development for our Symitar Core Processing Host System. We are seeking someone with at least 10 years of Symitar experience, serving as subject matter expert on the Symitar Episys platform. Providing knowledge on systems capabilities in regard to PowerOn programming, standard batch programming options, forms and Episys parameter settings. The Senior Programmer completes application upgrades, releases and patches to core processing host environment and all designated application systems, ensuring adequate testing, documentation and adherence to Change Control procedures. This role collaborates with our business unit managers and other departments being consultative on project development, providing solutions to system and/or operational issues. The Senior Programmer will provide critical data reporting, delivery, packaging, and analytic capabilities. This individual will analyze complex data structures to generate useful business insights and develop reporting to monitor business critical results. This individual must be innovative and have credit union experience.

Essential Functions

Conducts technical research on system upgrades to determine hardware and software functionality, including compatibility with current systems.

• Develops programs to enhance efficient use of financial systems, maintain member data, and produce requested reports.

• Develops and maintains applications that integrate with the core processing system (Episys).

• Performs a variety of complex programming tasks, such as designing, documenting and coding program logic.

• Prepares program test data, analyzes test results and specifies procedures for new, modified and enhanced programs.

• Assists with resolving emergency software problems. Recognizes errors and/or problems that require time sensitive research and resolution.

• Help analyze and implement new application and software products and/or applications based on business need.

• Perform unscheduled ad-hoc analysis for business partners and the credit union team.

• Communicate with business partners to establish data requirements.

• Responsible for ensuring all periodic programs and processes are run correctly and as scheduled for all applications and systems.

• Oversees the maintenance of user accounts on all host and third-party applications including but not limited to Symitar (Episys), and Synapsys. Works with other business unit leaders to ensure user access and privilege levels are appropriate and consistent.

• A key participant in planning and execution of annual full Disaster Recovery testing.

• Responsible for Symitar and ancillary product security and functionality.

• Responsible for establishing and maintaining good communication and excellent customer service with the end users.

Position Requirements

Education, Experience and Certification

• Bachelor’s degree, preferable in Information Systems, programming or Systems Analysis with an emphasis on computer software and databases, or equivalent is required.
• Previous programming experience required. Must be comfortable with structured / procedural programming.
• Proven working experience as SQL developer or report writer.
• A combination of 10 years' experience with Symitar’s Episys Power On (formerly RepGen), SymForm, XML, C++, .NET, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery and/or SQL.
• Unix/AIX system knowledge are a plus.
• The ideal candidate will be self-directed and self-motivated, have strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Must have problem recognition, solving and resolution, and be multi-task oriented.

Salary Range:

  • This position is a Tier 13, with an annual salary of $79,127.84 to $118,691.76
  • The anticipated salary for new hires is between the low-end and midpoint of the range, depending on experience
  • The range listed above is based upon the geographic location of our Administrative Offices in Modesto, CA using the greater Central Valley area for our pay range calculations
