Job Summary
The Pirates Marketing & Fan Engagement team is looking for an experienced Director, Ballpark Entertainment who will be a leader, teacher, and a hands-on contributor to join our growing team and help us build a best-in-class ballpark experience.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Integrated Marketing, this role must have a high-level knowledge of in-game presentation, producing and/or directing a big-league level show, managing a team of new and experienced entertainment professionals, and knowledge of how all those pieces work together to influence the fan experience inside and around PNC Park. They must also have a passion for events, activations, and maintain a “get it done” attitude.
Responsibilities
Primary:
- Oversee the organization and creation of event scripts for every Pirates home game and auxiliary event at PNC Park.
- Produce and choreograph the entertainment programming and on-field production for all Pirates home games and contracted stadium events, including but not limited to - public address announcer(s), pregame ceremonies, mascot, promo team, in-game music, etc.
- Oversee gameday fan engagement activations that take place outside PNC Park (e.g. – “Kids Days”, “Block Parties”, etc..)
- Partner with the Director, Ballpark Productions on the ideation and development of all video board elements including player features, animations, crowd prompts, and more.
- Elevate theme nights to bring them to life throughout the full fan journey.
- Collaborate directly with key stakeholders in Marketing, Ticket Sales, Pirates Charities, Community Engagement and Partnership Activation to develop the inventory and programming for promotional in-game integration of club initiatives.
- Provide and accept real and constructive feedback when necessary.
- Oversee group budget.
- Stay on the cutting edge of technology, activation, execution, and ideation in your area of expertise.
- Work with the Creative Project Manager to strategize and optimize workflow and process.
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
