The Officer, Content Marketing plays a key role in sharing the story of Holland Bloorview outside our walls, with donors, partners, clients, volunteers and others. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Brand and Public Engagement, the Officer, Content Marketing will have strong content marketing skills, including strategy, writing, social media, and other digital engagement, allowing them to produce and oversee content that engages and inspires in a variety of formats. The multi-faceted nature of this role requires refined organization and prioritization skills.

The Officer will be a part of Holland Bloorview’s communications and public engagement (CPE) team, which is comprised of both hospital and foundation colleagues. Working in collaboration, they build brand awareness, promote disability inclusion, and engage the community to support philanthropic giving to Holland Bloorview.

This role is hybrid in nature, with a combination of “work-from-home” and “on site as-needed” for in-person interviews, tours, team-building activities etc. Interested? Let's make it work. Our team members are empowered to take ownership of their schedules and workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Sr. Coordinator, Digital Engagement, lead the development and execution of the content marketing strategy with the goal of raising brand awareness, increasing fundraising revenue, and stewarding donors and other stakeholders
  • Identify, research, create and edit content in a variety of formats, both print and digital, written and image-based, including: integrated marketing campaigns, web and multimedia, advertising and direct marketing campaigns, articles, annual reports, campaign reports, speeches, scripts, and/or other communications
  • Proactively lead the content strategy for key campaigns and initiatives including Holland Bloorview’s annual anti-stigma campaign, Capes for Kids, and other important activities
  • Define and track key performance indicators and monitor content and channel performance in order to apply a strategic lens and recommend areas for improvement, innovation, and growth
  • Proactively seek out stories from client families and within the hospital, maximizing opportunities to amplify client voices
  • Lead the strategy and production of the annual joint impact report in collaboration with the CPE team and Foundation
  • Oversee website strategy for fundraising initiatives and other activities
  • Own the content management system and story bank to ensure key messages and content are easily accessible to team members throughout the organization, and that key awareness days and emerging trends are accounted for
  • Ensure all content adheres to client and family focused lens and that stories are told in a positive, ethical, and empowering way
  • Write and develop innovative and compelling materials to help sell the Foundation to current and prospective donors and promote the Foundation’s cause within the hospital
  • Ensure content follows digital best practices including SEO optimization, accessibility, etc.
  • Act as backup to Senior Coordinator, Digital Engagement on social media community management
  • Process invoices including coding, tracking approvals and obtaining quotes
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field and 2-3 years of content marketing and fundraising experience
  • Outstanding storytelling and writing skills
  • Superb project management skills and experience managing the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment while maintaining a focus on the delivery of results in the form of engagement, acquisition and fundraising
  • Demonstrated experience creating content for traditional and digital platforms, and growing social media communities
  • Refined equity lens and ability to craft stories that are inclusive, empowering, and amplify client voices
  • Ability to analyze and present content and social performance
  • Strong understanding of SEO as it relates to content marketing, and experience using website CMS tools
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues rated to disability and social justice
  • Ability to work in teams or independently
  • Flexibility to attend evening and weekend events as needed
  • Proactive storyteller, high energy, creative, enthusiastic and passionate about content marketing, social media and fundraising
  • Experience in a non-profit or multi-level organization an asset

Yearly salary: $60,000 plus a percentage payout in lieu of paid vacation and other benefits.
