Hourly: $20.00 - 23.00

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assisting with the overall hospitality services to residents on campus. Promotes the well-being and safety environment for residents by providing the attention and assistance needed. Responds to resident requests and questions in a timely and professional manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following; other duties may be assigned.

Provide set up before and during special events across campus by making sure Audio-Visual requirements and seating arrangements were met.

Conducts Audio Visual equipment inventory at the conclusion of each event.

Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all Audio-Visual equipment across campus.

Provide residents with surrey rides on campus.

Assist Transportation Department as a back-up driver when necessary.

Provide package delivery to resident.

Assists residents in moving small personal items.

Assists residents with electronic concerns and problems upon request.

Provide resident welfare check when appropriate.

Performs occupancy check on Guest Rooms when guests failed to check out on time at the Front Desk.

Interpret department procedures to personnel, residents, family members, visitors, etc., as directed by the Administrator.

Use equipment and materials in a safe and acceptable manner, follow established safety procedures, use appropriate safeguards, and observe common sense rules of safety in all on-the-job activities including the Injury and Illness Prevention Program.

Conduct self professionally in a manner that reflects well of the Carmel Valley Manor's mission by establishing a great example to peers and residents.

Must be able to work flexible schedule to assist residents during special events.

 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or equivalent required. Two to three years in hospitality services recommended. Must have knowledge and experience in electronics such as computers, tablets, Smart TV’s, Apple TV’s and Ipads.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Must have intermediate knowledge in Microsoft software.

REASONING SKILLS: Have the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such action.

AUDIO-VISUAL SKILLS: Know how to properly operate Audio Visual equipment such as the following; microphone, DVD player, Apple TV, Projection, centralized sound system and stage lighting.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Have the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.

One must possess great communication skills and should have good listening skills as well.

Must be able to remain calm even under pressure situations and should have excellent customer handling skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, climb, stoop, pull, lifting and reaching. The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions without effective protection from the weather. There are instances that a job must be performed in a narrow aisle or space.

Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally with assistance, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
