Bolton & Menk, Inc. is continuing to grow and we are looking to add an experienced Senior Transportation Project Engineer (PE) to join our Transportation team in Des Moines. In this role you will support and lead design teams on transportation planning, design, and construction reviews in connection with a wide range of multi-disciplined projects involving various aspects of highway/roadway/drainage design, safety studies, multi-modal roadway planning, transit design, site civil design, and design reviews. This role will work closely with our Senior Project Engineers with current project requirements and planning future projects, as well as mentoring and developing a team to help strengthen their transportation knowledge and skills.
What we are looking for:
- Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Candidates must be a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
- Ideally candidates will have a minimum of 12 years' progressive experience in the transportation engineering field.
- Understanding and knowledge of how specialized fields (i.e. planning, landscape architecture, environmental documentation, engineering applications for water resources, structures, municipal, traffic, construction and others) align with the highway project development process.
- Candidates must be willing to lead in a team environment and comfortable working in a collaborative team environment.
- Candidates must enjoy mentoring junior-level staff and welcomes being mentored for professional development.
- Candidates must be comfortable with minimal oversight in performing tasks and demonstrate an aptitude for figuring things out without all of the information.
- Effective interpersonal written & verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite programs such as MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong knowledge and skills in CAD and design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation.
- Possess a valid driver’s license as travel to various facilities and job sites may be required.
