Upper School Math Teacher

Upper School Math Teacher

High School includes grades nine through twelve. This position may include teaching a combination of Math classes/subjects. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about Christian education and is called to work with youth, desiring them to grow in their understanding of math with a biblical perspective. Beyond preparing math lessons and grading assignments, this teacher will also take on routine responsibilities common to all SCA teaching staff. Our teachers are responsible for fulfilling the mission of Scottsdale Christian by equipping minds through engaging, innovative instruction and nurturing hearts by mentoring young people as a spiritual leader and role model. This teacher will report directly to the High School Principal.

Requirements

The candidate must be a professing and maturing Christian enthusiastically supporting SCA's statement of faith, and mission statement. Training in Math, and best practices in teaching are required. A Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or a related field from an accredited college is required. Master's Degree preferred. Candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to develop authentic relationships with young adults, and to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement. In addition, the position requires the ability to organize and prioritize work, resolve problems, follow through, and manage multiple priorities to ensure that goals are met. Strong technology skills are required. This person must actively participate in weekly devotions, lead mission trips, disciple students and lead small groups to help us achieve our mission. Mathematics is God's structure for what he has created for us. As teachers we have the responsibility to share with our students this gift of pattern, logic, and reasoning. Hebrews 3:4 'For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.' 1 Corinthians 14:40 But all things should be done decently and in order. Psalm 90:12 So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.
