ORBA's growing Business Valuation practice is searching for a high-level individual to manage our valuation practice. The team is involved in valuation services for: Income tax Estate and gift tax Merger & Acquisition planning Marital dissolution and shareholder disputes What we offer: Flexible hours and a hybrid work model Dress for your day attire (jeans in the office and appropriate attire at clients) Tuition reimbursement on degrees of Masters in Accounting and Masters in Taxation Reimbursement for the CPA exam Discounted gym membership Payment of CPE and professional membership costs Mentoring and Leadership Development Programs Fun firm sponsored social events Generous paid time off and holiday time 15% referral fee for bringing in new clients Competitive compensation package and a broad range of insurance programs The Business Valuation Director will: Oversee all business valuation engagements and sign off on all issued reports Become a thought leader in the valuation area through attendance and leadership roles in professional societies Manage, train and mentor staff Evaluate and update existing policies and procedures Review and upkeep of engagement letters, research tools and other aspects of the practice Establish guidelines for acceptance of new engagements Develop internal and external training and education programs Write client focused and technical newsletters and articles Additional Requirements & skills: CPA with certifications in valuation or related areas 5 years of valuation experience Ability to handle valuation process from start to finish Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced and results-oriented environment Strong leadership, training, coaching and mentoring skills Outstanding written, interpersonal and presentation skills Excellent analytical and technical, skills High level of understanding of the litigation process and experience providing testimony (preferred) Ostrow Reisin Berk & Abrams, Ltd. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, age, sex, gender, disability or any other characteristic protected by law.   Position Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: At least 10+ years of experience preparing and reviewing complex individual, corporate, partnership and S-corp tax returns Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required Hold current CPA license Hold or working towards an advanced degree (MST or JD with Tax Emphasis) PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Proficiency with Microsoft Office in particular Excel and Word, CCH Axcess, tax-planning software and cloud-based tax research software. Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and analyzing problems logically and comprehensively, distinguishing between relevant and irrelevant information. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently. Ability to handle sensitive/confidential matters in a tactful and discreet manner. Ability to interface with a variety of management levels.
