Through engagement with its members, the Academy aims to promote a more sustainable entertainment industry by supporting important initiatives and fostering education and collaboration.

Internship positions in the Impact and Inclusion department at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences contribute to and support the goals and efforts of the department. The internship program will operate under the general direction of the Sustainability & Representation and Inclusion Managers to provide administrative and research support to the department.

This is a limited term internship position beginning in June 2023 through August 2023. The hourly wage for this role is $16.25. The position requires 20-40 hours per week.

 
Position Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a variety of specific tasks with oversight from several senior managers
  • Support sustainability and DEIA research and planning with knowledge of certifications in sustainability and DEIA
  • Support the research and planning for the Green Production Guide and sustainable event educational programs
  • Assist with renewable energy and carbon neutral assessments research and analysis
  • Research and develop recommendations for multiple project reports
  • Produce and delivery high quality presentations and reports
  • Gain experience in research, insights, reporting writing, and educational presentations with project teams
  • Learn the fundamental principles and tools used for sustainability and DEIA strategy
  • Support in the coordination, communication and delivery of internal and public facing impact and inclusion events and programs

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Community college, trade school, and university undergraduate or graduate students from the class of 2023 and 2024 in good academic standing
  • A minimum of 2.8 GPA
  • The internship is a remote position that requires Internet access for virtual meetings, email, and file sharing
  • This position requires a few in-person meetings in Los Angeles

This internship is part of the Academy’s Gold Rising program, an 8-week internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members.
