Annual Salary $55,000

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 12noon to 8:30p

Since 1971, Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board has provided a comprehensive continuum of high-quality, essential, and community-based services to citizens of the Peninsula who are affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders. 

The South-Eastern Family Project (SEFP) is a comprehensive residential program for pregnant women who are addicted to alcohol and/or other drugs. Gender specific substance abuse treatment services are provided in a healthy, stable, and secure residential environment where women and their newborns can remain together throughout the treatment stay.

The Residential Supervisor manages a caseload and provides direct care including assessment, diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, case management, individual, group and/or family counseling, educational sessions and discharge/aftercare planning for clients with substance abuse problems and serious mental illness. Oversees the maintenance of clinical records and compliance to clinical standards. Provides direct monitoring and supervision of direct line staff.

Requirements:  Master's Degree in Human Services and (2) + years of professional experience in the care and treatment of clients with substance use disorder or serious mental illness including supervisory experience.  Residential experience is preferred.  Must be registered as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) with the Virginia Board of Counseling or eligible to receive CSAC Supervision Approval within 30 days of employment.  Must be registered with the Board of Counseling to practice as a QMHP-A.

The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
