We are seeking an Operations/Communications Support Coordinator to join our team working primarily remotely with occasional in person meetings in the Washington, DC area to provide operational support for Navy Financial Management process improvement efforts. The ideal candidate will:

  • Have strong communication skills and experience developing communications plans for large project efforts.
  • Develop briefings, memos, talking points, and other outputs (e.g., Meetings SOP, PDASN bullets, WACM, SAT, travel books).
  • Provide operational support for strategic communications and engagements (e.g., GEMS, workshop logistics).
  • Coordinate with FMS-HQ leaders to develop presentations for FMS-wide meetings
  • Execute assignments on behalf of the FMS-HQ leaders (e.g., FMS All–Hands, Guides and SOPs developed for FMS day-to-day Operations).
  • Initiate, review, and coordinate ETMS2 taskers:
    - Develop an understanding of what the tasker requires; coordinate with parties across FM&C to determine who has equity and next steps.
    - Prepare memos for signature from the DASN, Deputy DASN, ASN, and Action Officers as required.
    - Maintain document repository and tracking system for all taskers.
    - Develop and maintain SOP for ETMS2 taskers across five Divisions.
  • Execute graphic design coordination and conceptualization (e.g., brand guides, tool kits).
  • Create and manage roadmaps and day-to-day monitoring of current and new taskers, and communicate adjustments to prioritization where necessary.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited United States college or university in a field of study relevant to his/her professional role including Business, Public Policy, English, Communications, or Political Science.
  • 2 years’ experience in last 5 or 10 years to qualify for Level I
  • 5 years’ experience in last 10 years to qualify for Level II
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • US Citizenship is a prerequisite.
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Specific labor category requirements:

Level I Project Management Professional

    • Functional Responsibility: Responsible for the completion of all aspects of the project as delegated by management.
    • Minimum Experience: Experience in supporting Federal financial projects in the following: business system implementation, business process standardization, POA&M development and execution, risk management, and project control from a cost, schedule, and performance perspective.
    • Years of Experience: Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience within the past 10 years of progressive experience providing project management services to the Federal Government agencies or Fortune 500 companies.
    • Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in relevant field from an accredited United States college or University.

Level I Strategic Communications/Change Management

    • Functional Responsibility: Responsible for the completion of all aspects of the project delegated by management related to Strategic Communications and/or Change Management.
    • Minimum Experience: Experience supporting change management and strategic communications initiatives to the Federal Government or Fortune 500 company.
    • Years of Experience: Candidate must have 2 years of full-time (excluding internships) experience within the past 5 years of progressive experience providing change management services and/or strategic communications to the Federal Government agencies or Fortune 500 companies.
    • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited United States college or university in a field of study relevant to his/her professional role including Business, Public Policy, English, Communications, or Political Science.

Level II Strategic Communications/Change Management

    • Functional Responsibility: Apply technical expertise and skills to implement business solutions related to Strategic Communications and/or Change Management. Level II Strategic Communications/Change Management individuals are directed to exercise core skills on projects, or they may direct small teams.
    • Minimum Experience: Experience supporting change management and strategic communications initiatives to the Federal Government or Fortune 500 company.
    • Years of Experience: Candidate must have 5 years of full-time (excluding internships) experience within the past 10 years of progressive experience providing change management services and/or strategic communications to the Federal Government agencies or Fortune 500 companies.
    • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited United States college or university in a field of study relevant to his/her professional role including Business, Public Policy, English, Communications, or Political Science.
