Description

JOB SUMMARY:  This position is responsible for the coordination and delivery of behavioral health services designed to meet the needs of Foster Children and Parents. Depending on the specific client needs, these services may include resource development, assessments and counseling.     

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

CLINICAL SERVICES:   

  1. Stabilize foster child’s emotional and behavioral wellbeing, while stabilizing the child’s placement in the foster home, through weekly sessions with the child.
  2. Conduct weekly sessions with the primary caretaker(s).
  3. Provide intervention services, as needed. This may occur on evenings or weekends.
     

DOCUMENTATION:

  1. Maintain and regularly update chronological records.
  2. Furnish initial report, monthly summaries, and final recommendations to DCPP worker in a timely manner.


CASE MANAGEMENT:

  1. Provide intensive case management and liaison between interested parties.
  2. Accessible to ongoing communication and case review via cell phone during working hours.
  3. Schedule visits to child’s school aftercare, program(s), doctor’s office, and any other location of relevance to the child.
  4. Maintain positive relationship with DCPP and other social service agencies.

PRODUCTIVITY:

  1. Maintain a case load clients in any of the three counties (Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean) which have been referred from a DCPP Caseworker through the DCPP liaison.
  2. Services are provided for a 4 to 6 month period per client.
  3. Clinician is expected to spend at least half their working hours in the field.

OTHER DUTIES:

Other related duties as assigned.

 
Position Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Need for flexibility and the ability to travel on a daily basis.
  • Compassionate; good listening skills.
  • Bilingual preferred.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS: No

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: MSW or MA in related field or equivalent experience or training in behavior management.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS NEEDED:  Valid driver’s license required. Clinical license preferred, but not required.
