Bolton & Menk is growing, and we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Traffic Engineer to join our Raleigh team! What you will be doing:
- Leads studies related to traffic operations, traffic safety, modal integration and access management.
- Prepare and present findings and recommendations for traffic-related concerns to municipal staff, elected officials, and citizens.
- Prepares Intersection Control Evaluation (ICE) study reports including but not limited to: evaluation of stop controlled, roundabout, and signalized intersections.
- Responsible for the planning, scheduling, and performance of multiple engineering projects while directing the work of other engineers and technicians.
- Assists with mentoring and developing professional and technical staff and participates in the staff performance evaluation process.
- Maintains liaison relationships with regulatory agencies.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent program an accredited college.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
- Professional Traffic Operation Engineer (PTOE) certification preferred.
- Twelve (12) years of progressive design and complex construction experience preferred.
- Effective interpersonal written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced math skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective supervisory and team leadership skills.
- Thorough knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite. (MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint)
- Expert knowledge of specialized traffic software. (i.e., SYNCHRO, SimTraffic, CORSIM, RODEL, etc.)
- Working knowledge of MMUTCD and Highway Capacity Manual.
- Possess a valid driver’s license as travel to various facilities and job sites may be required.
