Position Installation Services Manager  
Description

Provide leadership and day-to-day management to the System Specialists, Site Supervisors, A/V Rack Builder and Warehouse Coordinator for tracking and overseeing the progress of all aspects of a project from system pre-build to final acceptance in close coordination and cooperation with the Project Manager. Develop and maintain qualified A/V installers that can fulfill the needs of a typical Activu project. This includes system pre-build, cable infrastructure, audio systems and video wall array installations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assign operational staff resources to projects as requested in the weekly resource scheduling meeting.
  • Review and approve direct report expense reports
  • Review of direct report timesheets. Verify direct report hours worked are coded correctly to project and task worked. Ensure direct report utilization rates are at optimal levels
  • Manage direct report's paid time off
  • Perform quarterly and annual reviews of direct reports.
  • Ensure daily and weekly status updates are provided by the on-site supervisor when work is performed in the field
  • Support operational staff in the field as necessary
  • Management of the warehouse including shipping and inventory control
  • Develop personalized learning plans for each direct report with an emphasis on career development
  • Seek new training opportunities to add to the direct report learning plans
  • Drive each direct report to perform to the schedule of their learning plan
  • Assist in coordinating the in-house trainings such as the Training Stand Downs and in-house manufacturer training
  • Seek new tools, techniques and materials to make field installations sounder and more efficient
  • Oversee development of field and shop installation process and procedures
  • Responsible for recruiting of new technicians, site supervisors & warehouse team members for open positions
  • Attend project kick-off meetings as needed
 
Position Requirements

Education:

  • Associate degree preferred; 3-5 years of relevant experience maybe be a substitute for an Associate degree.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct daily supervision to the direct reports, also ensuring they are following guidance from the project manager / on-site supervisor on the job site
  • Recruit, Hire and develop employees and perform performance evaluations of direct reports.
  • Onboard newly hired team members by making available introductory and advanced training on Activu products and procedures and monitor new team members’ progress and readiness.
  • Maintain regularly scheduled self-study and/or instructor-led technical and customer interaction skills training, together with informal seminars and “lunch & learn” opportunities for continued team skill advancement.

Experience:

  • Experience leading and motivating employees to achieve a common goal.
  • Strong understanding of A/V systems and control room design is a plus
  • Experience as an A/V technician and/or Site Supervisor is a plus
  • Prior experience with ServiceMax, Salesforce and Asana cloud computing software is a plus.
  • OSHA 30 certification is a plus. Activu will provide necessary training to obtain certification if it is not currently held.

Specific Skills/Certifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Competent with MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Industry certifications, such as CTS, CTS-I, etc. are not required but may be helpful.
  • Candidates must demonstrate the following through experience and conduct:
    • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
    • Self-motivated & able to work in a professional environment with limited direct supervision.
    • Ability to achieve goals by working with and through others in a collaborative manner.
    • Ability to motivate and coach/mentor/develop resources to achieve desired team results.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be a safe driver

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Office Work Environment. This is not a hybrid or remote role.
  • May occasionally spend time on warehouse/assembly floor working with equipment integration & cabling. Lifting (up to 50 lbs.) may be required as part of project work.
  • Travel (up to 20%) to customer locations may be required.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and access construction projects where uneven and cluttered conditions may exist.
