The Data Specialist is responsible for managing the efficient submission of financial statements, including subsequent verification of financials, to ensure high quality data that is foundational to NCM’s Benchmarks and financial products. This role requires innovative solutions for the development, validation, and preparation of data and information based on the understanding of business needs and application of knowledge and data flow.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as a trusted resource for collecting and interpreting confidential financial information.
  • Understands all sources and associated procedures for receiving client’s financial statements.
  • Ten-key entry of financial statements.
  • Responsible for verifying financial information and working with our clients to correct potential errors.
  • Ensures process flow, data quality, reliability and integrity for all data submissions.
  • Recognizes data issues and works directly with providers of data to resolve problems.
  • Recommends policies, procedures and/or controls that make the overall process more efficient and effective.
  • Responsible for monitoring progress and maintaining responsibility for delivering NCM’s financial products accurately and on time.
  • Responsible for the verification of all data, including subsequent communications with clients via phone and email to ensure any data integrity issues have been resolved.
  • Responsible for recommending actions on behalf of the client by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and making comparative analyses.
  • Responsible for quality assurance of financial data located in company products
  • Works collaboratively with clients to explain processes and techniques and recommended actions to ensure reporting that is accurate, timely and of high quality.
  • Database management; quarterly analysis of financial statement and supplement submission history to account for accurate reporting in client records.
  • Assists with supporting the workload of teammates should an absence occur. As such, the employee is knowledgeable and efficient within all roles of the department.
  • Responsible for electronically filing financial statements, request forms, and adjustment documents.
  • Assists with work overflow.
 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferred, however, requirements may be satisfied with equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years related work or industry experience.
  • Knowledge of CRM/databases.
  • Knowledge of financial statements from automotive manufacturers.
  • Knowledge of composite/product formula files (programming code).
  • Advanced capabilities with Microsoft Office.
  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel functions.
  • Ten-key experience, minimum 8,000. 10,000 ksph preffered.
  • Strong time management skills.

  • Ability to synthesize data from multiple sources.

  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 5 pounds.
  • Must reside in the Kansas City area.
