Description

JOB SUMMARY:          Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor of Residential Services, the Assistant Program Supervisor is responsible for the administrative management of the Level A+, Level A and Level B Group Homes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provides administrative support to the assigned House Managers.
  2. Participates in a required weekly meeting with the Program Supervisor for the collaboration of services regarding key program elements.
  3. Works with the House Managers and Maintenance Staff to evaluate the group homes on a monthly basis to ensure that the facilities are in compliance with State Licensing Regulations under N.J.A.0 10:37A-Subchapter 8.
  4. Works with the House Managers to ensure that fire drills are completed on a monthly basis per N.J.A.0 10:37A-8,14,
  5. Works with the House Managers to facilitate the hiring of residential staff.
  6. Works in conjunction with the House Managers and the Program Supervisor to ensure that the Group Home Staff are thoroughly trained in the responsibilities of their job and have the resources to complete their job functions.
  7. Completes probationary and annual performance evaluations for assigned House Managers in accordance with Catholic Charities current policies.
  8. Works with the Program Supervisor and House Managers to evaluate consumers referred to the Group Homes assisting to complete the referral process and facilitate admission as needed.
  9. In coordination with the Program Supervisor and other administrative staff of Residential Services, assists in overseeing the movement of residents within Residential Services, as well as discharges.
  10. Ensures that the House Managers complete all necessary client documentation and reviews/approves as appropriate (Daily Service Records, new admission paperwork, incident report writing and other documentation as needed).
  11. Will provide emergency coverage to the Group Homes in the event that a shift is uncovered and the House Manager is not able to cover.
  12. Is on call 24/7 for facilities and consumer emergencies.
  13. In collaboration with the Program Supervisor, performs quarterly random chart audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
  14. Performs weekly onsite visits to each Group Home ensuring policy and protocol are being followed and that the houses are being kept up to standard.
  15. Perform other duties as may be deemed necessary by the Program Supervisor and Director of Residential Services.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS: Provides supervision to the House Managers.

 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: any of the following:

A Bachelor's Degree in mental health, rehabilitation or a related field (or higher) and a minimum of two years of experience providing mental health services.; or possess a relevant professional credential such as: licensed clinical social worker, licensed professional counselor, licensed associate counselor, licensed rehabilitation counselor, licensed clinical drug and alcohol counselor, licensed psychologist or a master of science in nursing.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS NEEDED: Valid driver's license is required.

MANDATED PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:

Behavior Health Services Completion of comprehensive competency based training program for individuals providing adult mental health residential services per N.J.A.C. 10:37A-7.3 required. Certification of CPI/CPR/First Aid, issued by a certified trainer within 90 days of employment. Completion of essential learning online training.
