Description

The Spirit Guide (Bartender) delivers food and beverage orders to guests according to Carriqui's specifications and standards, courteously and efficiently. S/he will assist in the maintenance of the bar/restaurant areas and equipment as well as be responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient billing of guest charges and maintaining bar stocks and par levels.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain complete knowledge and descriptions of:
    • all menu items, alcohol brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections available on our list.
    • maintenance and use of equipment, designated glassware, ingredients, preparation method and garnishes for each drink.
    • state liquor regulations
  • Responsible for the set-up, maintenance (stocking & cleaning), and operation of the bar, including making liquor drinks and serving guests in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accuracy of contracted monies. Ensure that bank is always secure.
  • Complete opening and closing duties
  • Input orders into system and ensure transmission of food orders is verified by kitchen.
  • Prepare all drink orders for guests according to the restaurant's trained recipes.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of bar top, tables, service areas and outlet itself.
  • Direct and assist Barbacks and Experience Makers in their job functions to ensure smooth and efficient service to guests.
  • Make safety concerns a priority. Any spills, broken glass, or other unsafe conditions must take priority over other duties.
  • An expectation of hybrid participation, in both the Hospitality and Culinary teams.
  • 50% of your time is to be spent on guest service interaction.

 
Position Requirements

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to multitask at a high level without compromising service.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and focus on serving customers
  • Suggestive/upselling techniques
  • Communication skills (verbal and written)

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum (2) two years of previous experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Previous bartending experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain food handler certification and TABC certification.
  • At least 21 years of age.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods standing and working of 8 hours or more.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.

Benefits

  • PTO (paid-time-off) after 30 days of employment, pro-rated based on the actual hire date. PTO is accrued January 1st of each year.

    • Eligibility to participate in the Associate Savings Plan (401k). In addition, the company will match 100% of the first 3% contributed and then 50% of the next 2% contributed by you. The company match is fully vested when contributed. Participation eligibility will begin on the first day of the month following 90-days of continuous employment.
