As the Director, Marketing & Advertising you will have an opportunity to connect the Pittsburgh Pirates brand to our customers. The Director, Marketing & Advertising is responsible for the planning and implementation of the media buying elements of the sales and marketing strategy designed to increase brand awareness and ticket and sponsorship sales.



  1. Lead club’s digital marketing efforts including email marketing, presence, MLB Ballpark app, paid digital advertising efforts and relationship with MLB
  2. Independently negotiate media buys, placement and traffic as well as marketing partnerships to drive ticket sales
  3. Partner with the Business Intelligence department to create automated campaigns, drive ticket sales and analyze advertising efforts
  4. Translate advertising performance metrics into insights-driven strategies that grow audiences, drive engagement, and increase ROAS
  5. Serve as MLB’s primary club contact for prioritization of projects and updates as well as the standardization of content delivery
  6. Collaborate with Social and Content Strategy team to drive a seamless and integrated experience across all Pirates platforms
  7. Work effectively with the club’s creative team on all advertising asset and campaign deliverables
  8. Lead and develop team members toward organizational and personal goals
  9. Reconcile all media invoices and affidavits with ad placement budget.


  1. Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director, Marketing.
  2. Evaluate developments, trends and consumer research in the entertainment industry.
Position Requirements


  1. Five years + experience in digital and traditional media placement
  2. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or Business
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software


  1. Management/supervisory experience
  2. MLB experience
