Job Summary

As the Manager, Ballpark Productions for the Pittsburgh Pirates you will ignite passion, optimism and energy while connecting with our fans, partners and colleagues. In this role you will be a brand ambassador responsible for inspiring and embracing a spirit of creativity, ingenuity, and adaptability.

The Manager, Ballpark Productions will help us connect with our fans by creating lifetime memories. This role will serve as a critical cog of control room operations, including content loading, equipment operation and programming, troubleshooting and other related control room responsibilities for home games and special events. They will assist with updating graphic templates and creating videos and other content for the Scoreboard. As Manager, Ballpark Productions you will need to be highly organized, detail oriented, with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Primary:

  1. Assist with the daily functioning of the PNC Park Control Room for Pirates home games and other special events.
  2. Responsible for loading content for Pirates games and special events at PNC Park in coordination with the Pirates content and creative team.
  3. Collaborate and work with Director, Game Presentation and Director, Ballpark Productions to create high valued video content for Pirates Home Games.
  4. Responsible for editing and creating new graphics for the video board.
  5. Making recommendations on ways to improve the control room’s operation on game days.
  6. Troubleshooting any equipment-related issues on Pirates game days or special event days.
  7. Occasionally liaison with outside vendors related to control room equipment.
  8. Assist with managing the production list for home games, ensuring tasks stay on track, assets are reviewed, delivered and loaded properly.
  9. Coordinate daily production tasks such as but not limited to; daily changes in the control room for Pirates games, daily content checks on Xpression, Switcher, Clip player, and more for Pirates games.
  10. Will help liaison with outside clients bringing in production events to PNC Park (i.e., Pitt Baseball, Fantasy Camps, Corporate Events).
  11. Will help liaison with event operations, group sales, and corporate sales for any production needs on non-Pirates baseball events at PNC Park to help decide how best to staff a production crew for such events when necessary.
  12. Submitting Click Effects music reports to BMI on a monthly basis.
  13. Working Pirates games and other special events as needed in the control room.
  14. All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
 
Position Requirements

Required:

  1. Authorized to work lawfully in the United States.
  2. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree and at least 3-5 years of control room experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  3. Extensive knowledge of Ross Video control room systems regarding functionality, operation and troubleshooting. This includes but not limited to Ross Video Xpression and Switcher.
  4. Extensive knowledge of video boards, Mitsubishi knowledge is a plus.
  5. Ability to initiate and design processes and planning.
  6. Strong organizations skills, time management skills and ability to multi tasks multiple projects.
  7. Ability to create and edit videos for in-game content such as hype videos, rally videos, and player content videos.
  8. Independent self-starter with ability to take charge of projects and teams.
  9. Knowledge of scripting and game rundowns like ShoFlo is a plus.
  10. Familiarity with Click Effects or similar music playback systems.
  11. Must have advanced knowledge of control room signal flow and an understanding of technical equipment to the larger show/production.

Desired:

  1. Shooting, editing, lighting, and/or audio skills a plus.
  2. Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects and other graphic/video editing software a plus.
  3. Strong understanding of Major League Baseball.
