Office and Public Outreach Specialist 

About the Organization Our company was incorporated in 1984 within the State of North Carolina, and opened its doors for business in August of 1985. The company has continually grown to a point where we currently serve more than 600 individuals, and employ more than 1000 people across the state.

Skill Creations is a human services agency that operates three service divisions. The ICF Division provides specialized long-term residential care to 191 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in 15 different towns in North Carolina. The Community Operations Division provides residential and non-residential services to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their home community. The Child Development Division, with two locations in Goldsboro, provides high quality child care and preschool for children ages birth - 5 years. One center also offers after school care through age 12.  

Position: Office and Public Outreach Specialist (CORP OFFICE)

Location: 100% office based position at Corporate Office (2105 Royall Avenue Goldsboro)

Hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm (1h lunch break) 32 hours a week

Pay: Begins at $21.50/hour

Benefits: paid holidays, health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, 401K, PTO accrual after 90 days of employment

Duties: Corporate Office Management (supplies, mail, organization)

Front Desk Greeter/ Gatekeeper

Answer Phones

Create and Upload to SCI Social Media sites

Help with creating newsletters

Creating and maintaining email database

Keep data on Excel spreadsheets up to date

Typing and document/template creation

Other duties as requested by supervisor

Position Requirements

Successful applicants will possess the following skill set:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training and/or college level course work preferred.
  • Knowledge of office systems and procedures
  • Working knowledge of office equipment including copiers, fax machines, postage machine and computers
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher), Constant Contact, and Canva
  • Excellent time management skills, the ability to work independently, and the ability to prioritize work
  • Excellent customer service skills, with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Clean driving record to perform various errands and light shopping
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Extensive knowledge of creating and posting to social media sites
