Description

$54,082.70 + $2.50/hr shift differential for evenings, overnights, and weekends

Schedule: 4p-12 mid-night,evenings to include weekends.

24/7 response for psychiatric crisis assessing for immediate psychiatric intervention and issuance of temporary detention orders (TDO) for individuals in need of mandated treatment in a psychiatric hospital.

The Emergency Services Counselor performs preliminary mental status assessments and short-term crisis intervention services. Makes referrals or coordinates admissions to treatment services. This level of Counselor may train or provide consultation of other counselors on an assigned shift or in an area of specialization (e.g. geriatrics, child and adolescent, etc.)

Requirements: Master's Degree in human services field that fulfills the criteria for eligibility for professional licensure as a LPC orLCSW in the Commonwealth of Virginia and one (1) year of experience in a psychiatric care setting including counseling and crisis intervention functions;

Pre-admission screener certification training modules must be successfully completed within 30 days of hire.

Valid Drivers License.

As a condition of employment with Hampton Newport News CSB, you are required to provide proof that you are fully vaccinated for COVID 19 or fit within an exemption under the law. Accordingly if selected, employment is conditioned on providing proof of vaccination or having an approved exemption prior to starting employment.

The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
