The studios, a performance space, a Wellness Center, and ancillary spaces are all available to the community and to nonprofit organizations at subsidized rates. MMDG's Community Education Programs partner with public and private schools and community centers to provide customized classes. Propelled by core values of community, access, excellence, and creativity, MMDG is committed to ongoing equity, diversity, and inclusion work to ensure its programs are welcoming and accessible to all.   Category Marketing   Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt   Full-Time/Part-Time Part-Time   Description SUMMARY: The Mark Morris Dance Group (MMDG) seeks a part-time Marketing Assistant to join a highly motivated, results-oriented marketing team in advancing the reputation and brand visibility of Artistic Director/Choreographer Mark Morris and the touring Mark Morris Dance Group and Music Ensemble, as well as broadening the reach and deepening the engagement with key audiences through the organization’s education and community engagement programs. The Assistant will help implement MMDG’s marketing and content strategy across owned, earned, and paid channels with a specific focus on email marketing and marketing traffic. This role reports to the Marketing and Communications Manager. Key responsibilities include: General Marketing Work with Marketing and Communications Manager on crafting messages that meet institutional, fundraising, and marketing goals. Assist Marketing and Communications Manager with press listings, pitches, maintenance of press kits, and other press assets. Work with Creative Content and Editorial Manager to maintain and update departmental system for filing and retrieving content, including photographs, videos, press articles, and press quotes. Email Marketing   Assist Marketing and Communications Manager with institutional email marketing programs: Importing prospect data into marketing customer relationship management (CRM) system Building and maintaining prospect segmentation and suppression lists Drafting email copy and layout; selecting and uploading appropriate graphics and images Creating and queuing eblasts Analyzing email performance metrics Design and Marketing Traffic Work with Creative Content and Editorial Manager to manage design schedule for the organization. Work with external designers and vendors to traffic all design projects from inception to completion. Update in-house marketing collateral, including flyers and monthly class calendars, and maintain supply and in-house distribution of printed marketing collateral.   Position Requirements You will be successful in this role if you: Have a strong aesthetic sensibility – You have a great eye for design and understand the impact a good visual can have to make or break a campaign. Have an interest in email marketing – You are interested in exploring how email marketing can impact the success of a program and would like to dig deeper into its potential. Have a knack for data – You genuinely enjoy analyzing campaign results, reporting on them, and learning from data to optimize and improve on your work. Are independent and collaborative – You are able to work autonomously, but also know when to seek advice from your supervisor and how to work as a team member. Are creative and intuitive – You are a problem-solver and are able to offer new ideas. Passionate about the performing arts – You have an interest in the performing arts community and understand the value of the arts. Qualifications: 1 year of experience in a marketing role Creative, resourceful, entrepreneurial mindset, with roll-up-your-sleeves mentality Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud or other design and video editing applications Experience with Salesforce or other CRM a plus Willingness to comply with MMDG COVID-19 Safety Plan and Vaccination Policy Schedule: 20 hours per week working onsite at the Dance Center for up to 6 months during onboarding. After the onboarding, the schedule can transition to 5-hour days per week in a hybrid mode (at least two days in our Downtown Brooklyn Mark Morris Dance Center and two days remotely). Days are flexible and will be determined upon job offer.
