Monday - Friday 8a to 4:30p

Annual Salary $32,635

Since 1971, Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board has provided a comprehensive continuum of high-quality, essential, and community-based services to citizens of the Peninsula who are affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders.  

Child and Adolescent services are for children and families who need a variety of case management, counseling, crisis, and psychiatric services.

The Clinical Assistant reviews, corrects and, monitors clinical documentation of outpatient mental and behavioral health treatment to ensure compliance with established organization and managed care company policies, standards and requirements. Assists clinical staff in re-engaging clients in treatment. Provides direct support to outpatient customers in the assessment process including: completing pre-registrations, taking histories, reviewing clinical documentation, determining appropriate servicing clinician, interpreting insurance coverage, scheduling appointments and assisting customers in removing barriers to attendance at appointments.

Requirements: Bachelors degree in Human Services and 6 months of experience working with clinical documentation OR Associates Degree in a medical specialty, Human Services or Business and one year experience in working with clinical documentation OR three (3) years of specialized work experience.

The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
