Program Description The Senior Community Services program offers a variety of services to seniors in Senior Centers where a variety of activities and services, community meals, day elder programming and access to resources are provided.  

Position Status This is a paid position with a comprehensive benefit package.  

Position Program Coordinator II - Living Skills (PC2-LS)

Description

Primary Duty:

Responsible for the coordination, implementation and evaluation of center programs and services, to promote the independence of elders living in the community. Responsible for day to day building operations so that programs are offered in a safe, barrier-free environment.  This position coordinates the center volunteer program as well as oversees and trains volunteers, senior aides and interns.

This position is 35 hours per week.

Position Requirements

Education/Experience:

BA/BS degree or equivalent experience with elderly community based programs
*Experience in-group activities and use of community resources required

Other Skills/Requirements:

*Creative, organized, detail oriented person with capacity to implement multiple projects
*Must have demonstrated skills in interpersonal communication and ability to develop and maintain positive working relationship with elderly, staff and services providers
*Ability to work independently with limited supervision with in a team concept
*Knowledge of computer software programs
*Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
*Strong PC skills in work processing and/or ability to type 65wpm
*Organizational and time management skills
*Current driver’s license, safe driving record, and reliable transportation
*Ability to communicate effectively-both verbally and in writing
*Ability to work with a diverse population of individuals by using tact, diplomacy and flexibility
*Basic math skills
*Ability to function independently and have the ability to perform leadership and decision-making activities
