Role and Responsibilities

  • Promotes the bank’s initiatives for development in the community, includes educating the public about State Bank’s community projects.
  • Setting short and long term community development goals and representing the institution at local functions and events. Contact prospects and customers for new business in accordance with management direction and annual call goals.
  • Maintain frequent interaction with centers of influence, community leaders, etc.
  • Work with the Market Executive to establish and maintain relationships with community based, charitable, and non-profit Organizations.
  • Identify opportunities for CRA Investments, donations and community development loans.
  • Produce qualified referrals to all business units through regular calls on existing customers and prospective customers and referral sources.
  • Attend and participate in community events, networking groups and local service clubs.
  • Demonstrates a positive reflection of the organization in public through their actions and behaviors.
  • Oversee and run regional advisory board meetings
  • Responsible for knowing and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines, as detailed in policies that include but are not limited to Bank Secrecy Act and other applicable anti-money-laundering rules, Fair Lending, Community Reinvestment Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and other laws and regulations as they pertain to the position.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Create, develop and oversee short and long-term marketing strategy and subsequent results for the region(s)
  • Create and ensure adherence to regional marketing plan along with ME or RP
  • Coordinate regional advertising campaigns
  • Coordinate GIVES events and utilizing volunteers and GIVES Truck
  • Lead area sales call blitzes and similar type events in the region
  • Manages the community development function for the region, including:

  • Identify opportunities for CRA Investments, donations and community development loans.
  • Coordinate joint calling efforts with sales partners.
  • Utilize effective techniques to achieve sales call goals.
  • Produce qualified referrals to all business units through regular calls on existing customers and prospective customers and referral sources.
  • Attend and participate in community events, networking groups and local service clubs.
  • Demonstrates a positive reflection of the organization in public through their actions and behaviors.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance standards by complying with all bank policies and procedures.
  • Travel within market daily.
  • Develop or find financial education curriculum to use for education based marketing to local schools, non-profits and businesses.
  • Participates with immediate supervisor in establishing specific goals for the unit; implements strategies to achieve these goals.
  • Reviews market research and conducts customer and non-customer focus groups to assess market characteristics, sales trends, customers, financial service’s needs, competitive climate, etc.
  • Assists in the development of the Bank’s annual marketing/sales plan; this plan to establish customer service, sales, and market penetration objectives for the banking Region.
  • Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate bank personnel.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites work flow.
  • Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.
  • Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Customer Identification Program (CIP), Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.
  • Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other bank personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
  • Assists the immediate supervisor with various administrative tasks to support banking center operations, as directed; may also be assigned special projects.
 
Position Requirements

Education

A B.A. or B.S. in Business or a related field strongly preferred. Specialized banking education and training.

Experience

A minimum of five (5) years' experience in related positions normally required. Experience in both Retail Banking and mortgage lending normally required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally ascends/descends stairs to move through the different floors of the location.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than two-thirds of the time.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to accomplish tasks.
  • Occasionally adjust or move objects in all directions.
  • Frequently communicates with others to exchange information.
  • Constantly moves wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
  • Occasionally exposed to high temperatures and low temperatures.
  • Occasionally has to work around noisy environments.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
