Teaching Assistants must ensure safety of these children in accordance with relevant federal and state legislation and policies. The classroom staff will be respectful of children and parents, and ensure that equipment and facilities are clean, safe and well maintained. The Teacher Assistant will work in the classroom under the direction of the lead teacher. Duties of an assistant include working with either students in small groups or individually, enforcing the rules to help students behave, tracking attendance, preparing materials or equipment for lessons, and helping supervise students. Common Responsibilities: Provide nutritious snacks and lunches as defined by federal, state, local, and facility guidelines. Ensure equipment and the facility are clean, well maintained and safe at all times Assist the teacher with the daily lessons.
