Building Material Sales Rep

The Building Material Salesperson will create, foster and sustain valuable customer relationships. This individual will be responsible for prospecting clients, estimating material takeoffs, job site consults, preconstruction meetings, and project management. Sales staff are bound by shared values and goals and promote the highest quality service to Shaw/Stewart’s customers.


  • Achieve sales and gross margin budget
  • Develop and execute business plan
  • Develop new business
  • Execute company sales process
  • Relationship management


The successful Building Material Salesperson is motivated, takes an active role in personal development and thrives in an autonomous environment. High detail and efficiency in personal organization and time management are pivotal characteristics. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are key.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or Certificate in Construction Management or equivalent experience
  • Outside sales experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check


  • B.S. in Construction Management
  • 2+ years of experience in Project Management
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial construction or trades
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project
