Regional Director of Maintenance 

Description

PURPOSE

This position is responsible for managing and oversight of the maintenance operations of terminals in assigned areas for the purpose of maximizing vehicle uptime, controlling costs, improving shop efficiency, and workforce retention.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Effectively Lead a regional maintenance operation in accordance with financial goals
  • Develop and implement processes to meet and/or exceed all established service requirements
  • Travel to assigned USAT maintenance Facilities for auditing purposes
  • Perform maintenance audits, provide service managers with solutions, and monitor for resolution of identified issues
  • Monitor warranty filings, process, procedures and collections by working with corporate Warranty Manager
  • Develop management and technical skills of maintenance personnel with the use of Lean Manufacturing and Performance Execution tools in assigned locations
  • Work in conjunction with Terminal Managers at assigned Facilities to ensure best operational and equipment strategies.
  • Promote safe work environment and repair practices in assigned locations with the use of Shop 6S audits and working with Corporate Maintenance Trainer to ensure all employees and facilities meet applicable OSHA/EPA regulations
  • Monitor parts and tire inventory for proper levels and usage by working closely with Corporate Procurement Coordinator and Tire Program Manager

 

 
Position Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements.

  • 5+ years experience in Process Improvement
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Available to travel 30% of the time
  • 5+ years experience managing fleet maintenance facilities

 

Preferred Skills.

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Effective team building abilities
  • Knowledge of DOT standards of repairs and maintenance
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations regarding terminal facility
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience
  • Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results
  • Able to promote a culture of Commitment, Integrity, Teamwork, Accountability, Trust and Safety

 

SUPERVISES OTHERS.

  • This position supervises others and is responsible for being results oriented, cooperative, has the ability to delegate effectively, and continuously strives for team effectiveness

 

WORKING CONDITIONS.

This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required:

  • to sit, stand, stoop, kneel and occasionally move up to 20 pounds,
  • manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard on a daily basis,
  • stamina to sit for extended periods of time, lift or carry printed materials, and
  • possess vision sufficient to read a monitor, printed text and hand written documents,
  • ability to professionally communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.
