Location: Gaithersburg, MD

 

We are currently seeking a rising undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior student working towards a degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field for a 10-12 week internship during the summer of 2023.

 

Objectives/Goals of the Position:

The objective of this position is to develop a protein precipitation procedure for PS80 determination in regards to:  

  • Capacity to expand method applicability to projects with protein precipitation step 
  • Reduce potential loss of PS80 during precipitation  
  • Improve utilization of PS80 ELSD method for possible stability indicating propensities   
  • Help to quantitate PS80 and protein interaction rate  

 

Primary Duties:

  • Prepare samples using combinations of the items explained above (different pH’s, reagents, heating, mixing, molecule types) and set up sequences on the Waters Agilent LC instrument 
  • Process the collected data 
  • Thoroughly document the experiments and summarize the results 
 
Position Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • The applicant should have a general understanding of analytical methods used for biologics and have good documentation and presentations skills. Must be able to carry out all laboratory operations in a safe and effective manner and maintain a clean and orderly laboratory environment. 
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0
