Location: Gaithersburg, MD

 

We are currently seeking a rising undergraduate sophomore, junior, senior or a master/PhD student working towards a degree in biochemical engineering or related engineering degree for a 10-12 week internship during the summer of 2023.

Objectives/Goals of the Position:

Cell therapy products are subjected to numerous stresses throughout their downstream manufacturing process including freeze/thawing cycles, pumps withing the fill/finish systems, filtration and mixing. As a result, cell damage may occur which could cause loss of potency or other adverse impacts to product quality. The objective of this position is to execute a study with a fill/finish unit operation to identify root causes of cell damage within our cell therapy manufacturing processes. The intern will operate fill/finish equipment and utilize the machine learning algorithm at Colorado Boulder to produce and present data to identify key process parameters in the cell therapy manufacturing process. 

Primary Duties:

Conduct lab experiments, present data to facilitate training of machine learning program with cells.

  • A rising undergraduate sophomore, junior, senior or a master/PhD student working towards a degree in biochemical engineering or related engineering degree
  • Cell Culture, Data Collection and Analysis, 
  • Strong verbal/written communication
  • Problem-solving skills. 
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0
