Hostess (Greeter)

The Greeter (Host) is often the first point of contact for guests. S/he embodies the hospitable spirit of Carriqui and assists in greeting, seating, pre-bussing, preparing the space, and ensuring Carriqui’s standards of service. S/he manages reservations, updates guests’ data to enhance experience and build rapport. The Greeter monitors guests' needs and has strong communication with MOD to share intelligence, and relay service compliments or issues.


Essential Functions

  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all, regardless of time or business.
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent restaurant data.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times, recognize upon arrival and cater to guest preferences.
  • Resolve guest complaints and update guest profile accordingly to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Meet with Supervisor to review daily assignments and priorities.
  • Access all reservations from Tock.
  • Document pertinent information in the logbook/Tock/Host Checklist.
  • Escort and/or facilitate guests to tables.
  • Assist with pre-bussing and flipping tables to expedite service and table turns.
  • Communicate VIP arrivals to designated server, and manager in FOH & BOH.
  • Document all guest requests, complaints, or problems.
  • Resolve discrepancies with reservations in a timely manner.
  • An expectation of hybrid participation, in both the Hospitality and Culinary teams.
  • A minimum of 20% of your time is to be spent on guest service interaction.
Position Requirements

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and positive work ethic.
  • Ability to work efficiently and quickly
  • Must be able to work well as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain personal cleanliness.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum six months' experience in a similar position, preferably with a high-volume restaurant


Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods standing and working of 8 hours or more.
  • Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting 20 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  • Remain stationary and focused at times throughout work periods.



  • PTO (paid-time-off) , pro-rated based on the actual hire date. PTO is accrued January 1st of each year.

  • Eligibility to participate in the Associate Savings Plan (401k). In addition, the company will match 100% of the first 3% contributed and then 50% of the next 2% contributed by you. The company match is fully vested when contributed. Participation eligibility will begin on the first day of the month following 90-days of continuous employment.
