Share Email Opening Apply Now Title CAD Draftsman & Construction Estimator   Category Skilled Trades   Description Drawings and plans typically show the station location and flow lines and the estimator must specify the exact geometry of the underground precast casting. Using provided software you will draw these castings, price them and provide them to the contractor and the production team. In your role, it will be necessary to investigate and resolve or know and communicate any unspecified issue prior to the bid. You will be asked to follow up with contractors and supply houses ensuring that they received the bid and help clarify any missing points or questions. Develop and maintain positive relationships with the local supply houses network to find new work. Essential Job Functions Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare bids for contractors. Develop positive relations with contractors/vendors/specifiers providing quotes and communicating estimated timelines. Ensure timely completion of Bids/estimates Understand the scope of work to bid Specify and communicate castings to be manufactured to production crews With help from the Plant Managers; monitor the comparison of estimated costs to actual costs   Position Requirements Qualifications Ability to read job plans (blueprints), and specifications and develop cost estimates Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines Previous experience with Titan estimating software is a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be comfortable using Microsoft Office products Must be self-motivated and punctual. Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow-up skills Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities A demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and maintain control of the situation is essential Excellent organizational and communication skills The ability to interface with people and influence their activity A high degree of energy, dedication, and desire to succeed NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
