Description

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures furthers the understanding, celebration, and preservation of cinema through inclusive and accessible exhibitions, screenings, programs, initiatives, and collections. Welcoming visitors from Los Angeles and around the world, the Museum works in active partnership with motion picture artists and specialists, scholars, staff, and diverse communities to contextualize and challenge dominant narratives around cinema, inspiring discourse, connection, joy, and discovery.

Reporting to the Manager of Advancement Services, the Advancement Services Specialist supports the Advancement Services team in gift administration, membership processing, and data management.

You Will:

  • Oversee the integrity of the database.
  • Maintain the daily operations of the Advancement activity in the database while enhancing the accuracy of the data.
  • Create and distribute periodic and recurring Advancement-related financial reports and dashboards.
  • Work with Finance to reconcile Advancement revenue.
  • Assist with the development of database standards guides, including policies and procedures.
  • Oversee gift administration, including Museum memberships, invoicing, and acknowledgment generation and signature process.
  • Ensure all gifts are processed in accordance with industry best practices and IRS guidelines.
  • Oversee maintenance of Advancement files and shared drive.
  • Cross-train in multiple aspects of Advancement team support.
  • Assist with developing database training for department users and organize training sessions.
  • Implement best practices in information management.
  • Work closely with IT, Membership, and Visitor Experience teams to properly manage donor data and resolve Advancement-related data issues.
 
Position Requirements

You Have:

  • A bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in an advancement role.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and awareness of the Donor Bill of Rights.
  • Highest degree of professionalism and discretion in dealing with donor information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with data entry and familiarity with relational databases, Salesforce Non-Profit. Success Pack preferred.
  • Experience handling payment transactions.
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.

The pay range for this position is $21.63/hr - $24.04/hr.
