Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Develop, implement, and execute strategic marketing plans for the department of Venues Parks & Arts. Oversee social media marketing and content creation for the department.

$60,000 annually

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Responsible for overseeing interns as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Serves as the marketing resource for assigned departmental divisions within Venues Parks& Arts. • Provides for assigned division's brand experience: strategy, messaging, design, communications, e-media presence, etc. • Works with division to develop and execute innovative marketing campaigns to effectively build brand awareness and increase reach; develops actionable initiatives to surprise and delight customers. • Works with division to empower employees to message & maintain brand consistency. • Develops, implements, and maintains an overall marketing plan for the division. • Alongside Division Director, develops and maintains operating budgets for marketing unit. • Continually assesses market trends, competitive references, and consumer preferences to provide comprehensive knowledge base for strategic planning. • Develops user profiles and target markets for programming and services. • Compiles and monitors metrics for marketing purposes and creates reports as necessary • Responsible for content creation and distribution of all traditional print and electronic marketing materials for assigned division • Serves as marketing resource to other VPA marketing managers, City of South Bend, and various external VPA partners. • Maintain department social media calendar • Create content for VPA social media channels and collaborate with other marketing managers to provide content for social media

NON-ESSENTIAL/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Assume additional responsibilities as requested.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS: 2 • Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Design, Communications, E-Media, Business, or Related Field. • Previous experience in marketing or design.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: • Working knowledge of local government a plus. • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator; InDesign; Photoshop • Working knowledge of web site administrative functions and content management systems • Ability to review and negotiate contracts • Ability to communicate with supervisors, peers, or subordinates, providing information by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. • Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work, developing specific goals and plans to accomplish work. • Ability to coordinate the work and activities of others — Getting members of a group to work together to accomplish tasks.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, REGISTRATION: • Valid Driver’s License • CPR/AED Certified

EQUIPMENT: Computer, smart phone, telephone, copier, facsimile machine and calculator.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in an open, creative office space that fosters collaboration, promotes innovation and allows efficient exchanges of information. Work space will consist of open offices and meeting spaces that encourage interaction and group work
