Must have the ability to work alone while in specific assigned offices and buildings and in and around customers and other building tenants. Must be able to pass background check KEY JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Gather and empty trash from trash cans. Clean trash cans if necessary. Clean and disinfect restrooms, restroom mirrors, counters, sinks, showers and toilets. Restock paper towels, hand soap, and toilet paper. Dust furniture, mini-blinds, filing cabinets and ceiling fans, etc. as directed. Vacuum carpets and floors. Sweep and mop floors. Wash and squeegee interior windows. Spot clean carpets and various flooring materials Experience with floor care (strip, wax, buff, refinish) preferred. Experience with carpet extraction, shampoo also preferred. SCHEDULE/ATTENDANCE: Varies depending on assignment Work location may vary but will remain within Bexar County.   Position Requirements EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED preferred Technical School Diploma or Certificate a plus EXPERIENCE: Custodial experience preferred but not required (will train) KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: COMMUNICATION: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via oral or written means. Ability to communicate appropriately with supervisors and team members. Ability to present a friendly and positive demeanor to both internal and external customers. COMPOSURE: Ability to remain calm and maintain self-control in the midst of difficult circumstances and emergencies. Ability to respond in a professional manner in all situations. TECHNICAL: Working knowledge of equipment and processes in assigned department. PHYSICAL: Ability to operate & control custodial equipment. Ability to operate hand power tools (to 25 pounds) & manipulate small pieces; Ability to lift, stack, load & move up to 40 pounds from varied heights. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Indoors, with occasional outdoor cleaning for limited periods of time. A. MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, WORK AIDS Custodial tools and equipment (i.e. mops, brooms, vacuums, diluting machines, carts, etc…). Floor care machines as needed. B. WORKING CONDITIONS: Light to moderate physical exertion; 4-8 hours at a time. Indoor controlled temperatures and ambient climate. Exposure to normal noise levels.
