Snowsports Supervisor/Administrator

Position type: Seasonal, Full time; Hourly, Non-Exempt

Reports to: Director of Snowsports

Bromley's focus is on guest relations and snow sports instruction. We are looking for Supervisors who are team oriented to help lead our snowsports department. These supervisors will be the go-to front-line leaders that are on the snow, interacting with guests, and giving direction to our instructors. We are looking for outgoing, confident individuals that desire a challenge.

Summary: Primary role is to lead by example, provide on-mountain direction to instructors, interact with guests and provide instruction to guests learning to ski or snowboard.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and assign daily assignments for ski and/or snowboard instructors
  • Run line ups
  • Update computer and instruction assignments
  • Be available on hill to help in any situation as needed
  • Evaluate staff's teaching and customer service skills
  • Help train staff
  • Lead by example
  • Instruct lessons when necessary
  • Be guest focused and willing to assist a guest with any problem
  • Be knowledgeable in the principles and application of teaching snow sports and has the ability to demonstrate and communicate the knowledge clearly and positively
  • Be enthusiastic and outgoing
  • Accept all assignments with equal enthusiasm
  • Be professional and knowledgeable in all aspects of Bromley, including but not limited to lessons, food and beverage and lifts
  • Be well groomed and in proper uniform
  • Be able to adhere to Bromley's vision, mission and core values
  • Be punctual and adhere to a set schedule
  • Coach individual members of staff to become the best they can with feedback
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Must be able to handle issue with students and parents quickly and efficiently
  • Maintain a caring and sensitive attitude towards guest
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • PSIA or AASI Level I, higher preferred
  • Flexible in response to changing assignments and working in a fast paced environment
  • Have the mental capacity and awareness to care for the physical, social and psychological needs of 8 to 10 children for 6 hour periods daily in various weather conditions
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work in all types of weather for extended periods
  • Ability to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level in any type of snow conditions
  • Must follow Bromley’s policies on personal appearance

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position supervises a team of 20-30 snowsports instructors during the winter season. Hiring, training, scheduling, and leading this team is a critical part of the responsibilities of this position.

Work Environment:

This job operates primarily outdoors, on snow, during the winter season.

Physical Demands:

This is a physically active role requiring several hours of standing and working outdoors; on and off snow. Occasionally indoors using computers and phones as well. Must be able to lift and carry 20 lbs over uneven terrain.
