Description

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:  Responsible for certain aspects of credentialing, recredentialing and privileging processes for medical providers who provide patient care on behalf of Indiana Internal Medicine Consultants outpatient and inpatient practice, and performs other duties as directed by the credentialing manager.

  1. Compiles and maintains current and accurate data for all medical providers.

  2. Occasionally coordinates the ordering of appropriate supplies for medical providers. 

  3. Monitor and update provider information in databases and systems.

  4. Occasionally tracks licenses and certification expirations for all medical providers to ensure timely renewals.

  5. Frequently processes applications for appointment and reappointment of privileges to various facilities where IIMC medical staff provide patient care.  

  6. Maintains confidentiality of medical provider information.

  7. Occasionally provides credentialing and privileging verifications.

 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED required.
  2. Associate degree preferred.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Knowledge of HIPAA and adheres to confidentiality guidelines of the documents and information that will be handled.
  3. Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
  4. Ability to function in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  5. Ability to understand and effectively work in Microsoft products
  6. Ability to organize and prioritize work and manage mulitple priorities
  7. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  8. Possess time management skills with ability to meet deadlines.
  9. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, management, staff and contacts outside the organization.
