School Social Worker needed for full-time (730a-4p, M-Th, virtual Fri), temporary position at a middle school in Washington DC.
The primary task of the School Social Worker is to provide services to students to enhance emotional well-being and improve their academic performance. The school social worker will help students, families, and teachers address truancy, social withdrawal, maladaptive behaviors, and the effects of physical, emotional or economic problems. The School Social Worker assists students with academic learning by providing strategic services that identify and address the social, emotional and environmental issues that interfere with the education process. While working with the parents/guardians, teachers, school principal (or appointed designee), and community based resources, this individual implements strategies that promotes students’ positive school adjustment.
This position will maintain clinical records and submit appropriate documents as needed, indentify and assess academic issues through observation, implement therapeutic strategies, conduct risk assessments, provide individual/group therapy, make necessary referrals, provide crisis intervention, case management and provide staff consultation.

Must be DC licensed social worker (LGSW, LICSW).
Requires Master's degree in social work from accredited college/uni.
Ability to speak Spanish preferred.
Experience in a school setting.
