Job Summary

The Ball Team is responsible for patrolling the foul lines during Pirates home games at PNC Park. In addition, the Ball Team will also be asked to work non-game day events at the ballpark, around the community and Pirates-related ball clinics. You will be serving as overall ambassadors for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for stopping all foul balls during the games.
  2. Execution of Kid's Sunday events that include Kids Fun Zone (pre-game) and Kids Run the Bases (post-game).
  3. Execution for all softball related clinics in the community and serve as community ambassadors for the team.
  4. Other duties as assigned by the Special Events Department.
  5. Assist with various community and ballpark events.
  6. Willing to learn the Bucco Brigade duties and fill in when needed.
 
Position Requirements
  1. Prior experience playing softball or baseball. College experience is desired.
  2. 18 years or older.
  3. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
  4. Comfortable working with the public and especially children.
  5. Ability to work 70% of 81 home games (57 games) with a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays. (Monday - Saturday schedule typically starts at 6:00 p.m. and Sundays 10:00 a.m.)
  6. Ability to attend at least 70% of all community functions promoting Pirates baseball. (Timing of these events are typically on weekends, but may fall within 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.)
  7. Must obtain Act 33, 34 and 73 clearances within 60 days of the start date.
  8. At least one (1) semester of college credit desired.
