Hourly Rate: $13.14/hr

Part-time Work Schedule: Mon/Tue/Wed 8a - 4:30p and Thu 8a - 1p

Since 1971, Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board has provided a comprehensive continuum of high-quality, essential, and community-based services to citizens of the Peninsula who are affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders.  

Digital Records Scanner are specialized imaging technicians who transfer and scan documents into document imaging systems. The incumbent’s main tasks are to scan physical documents into a document imaging system and produce electronic reports to upload into a document imaging system in order to create content for the agency’s electronic health record. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout the day. The scanned copies of the documents need to be legible and accurate, and correctly indexed. The incumbent needs to make adjustments as necessary to ensure that the content is legible in the electronic health record. This position will be responsible for organizing scanned documents on various local, network and cloud-based storage devices. This position will maintain confidentiality at all times and respond to oral and written requests for information appropriately. The incumbent will fully follow HIPPA, agency, and departmental guidelines for all documents. These guidelines determine how documents must be stored electronically and how the hard copies must be destroyed. The incumbent is expected to work independently with oversight by the department supervisor.

Requirements: 

High School Diploma and one (1) year of formal training or experience that includes skills such as creating, managing, and interpreting records. Experience with Microsoft operating systems and applications preferred.

As a condition of employment with Hampton – Newport News CSB, you are required to provide proof that you are fully vaccinated for COVID 19 or fit within an exemption under the law. Accordingly if selected, employment is conditioned on providing proof of vaccination or having an approved exemption prior to starting employment.

The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
