Location: Frederick, MD

We are currently seeking rising undergraduate sophomores, juniors, or seniors working towards a degree in microbiology, biochemistry, biology, chemical engineering or related field for a 10-12 week internship during the summer of 2023.

Objectives/Goals of the Position:

The intern will support upstream commercial support and tech transfer tools development and consolidation.

As part of upstream commercial operations upstream (US) MS&T scientists use a variety of tool to: 1) evaluate process performance, 2) make recommendations for process decisions, 3) tech transfer facility assessments, 4) complete product impact assessments. 

Over the years US scientists have developed some tools to support commercial operations and tech transfer for; however, tools have not been consolidated for general use and additional tools could be generated to improve agility and consistency of the process evaluations.

Primary Duties:

Lead prioritization of additional US tools needed to support operations, assist in the creation of cell culture tools, consolidation of existent tools. Intern will be responsible for sharing the final tool box with internal and relevant external groups.

  • Rising undergraduate sophomores, juniors, or seniors working towards a degree in microbiology, biochemistry, biology, chemical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0
