Monday - Friday 8:30a to 5p

Since 1971, Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board has provided a comprehensive continuum of high-quality, essential, and community-based services to citizens of the Peninsula who are affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders.  

The System Administrator maintains and administers the agency's network systems for file, print, e-mail, and enterprise systems servers. Oversees the desktop configuration in terms of image development, desktop software versions for anti-virus, Windows, and Microsoft Office including email and security configurations. Works with the engineer to troubleshoot and correct issues as they arise. Assist with managing the directory, backup, and telephone systems and performing routine maintenance on communications and other infrastructure equipment, systems, and applications. Manages the Help Desk ticketing system to insure employee technical assistance matters are handled in a timely manner. Serves as the Help Desk staff escalation Level II contact before issues are brought to the supervisor. Ensures completion and maintenance of documentation within areas of responsibility is completed.

Requirements:  Three (3) years of related IT experience in the operation, installation and maintenance/administration of Windows networks and systems interconnectivity.  Technology certifications a plus.

As a condition of employment with Hampton – Newport News CSB, you are required to provide proof that you are fully vaccinated for COVID 19 or fit within an exemption under the law. Accordingly if selected, employment is conditioned on providing proof of vaccination or having an approved exemption prior to starting employment.

The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
