JOB SUMMARY:

The Connected Car Engineer will manage the implementation of connected car features, suggests and forms in-vehicle technology strategy and create a roadmap for implementation. This role will have a major impact on vehicle technology and our future competitiveness. They will serve as SME for connectivity and will assist call center agents with FAQs, promote understanding of remote diagnostics capability to our digital technicians and will collaborate on creation of training material and documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Develops in-vehicle technology strategy and services such as multimedia, displays, human-machine interfaces, connectivity and innovative services that leverage vehicle's connectivity and cloud-based backend

  • Creates mid- and long-range plans, and executes near-term application plans based on hardware, applications and services that are currently outlined

  • Serve as voice of the customer when connected car features are not meeting customer expectations

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for new in-vehicle technology launches and rollouts in primary focus areas

  • Develops feature launch and rollout plans and works with other VinFast groups, R&D and suppliers to implement them

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert to digital technicians in the field as VinFast launches class leading digital technician-based customer support

  • Provide expert level debugging and training to digital technicians to ensure a high standard of customer service

  • Assists in preparation of technical service bulletins (TSBs) and training materials related to connected car features

  • Coordinates and executes go and see activities (when needed) at ports of entry, S3 locations and regional headquarters

  • Executes quality gate signoff and ensure timely resolution of audit raised issues

  • Solid reporting skills and ability to stay on top/follow up on open issues to closure

  • Conducts and collaborates with training personnel in creation and maintenance of education materials (for example: owner's manuals, in-vehicle brochures, and feature and function guides)

  • Continuously benchmarks our competition (OEM & tech companies), creates and communicates clear action plans within US organization and technical teams in Australia and Vietnam

TECHNICAL AND NPI SUPPORT:?

  • Participate in E2E JIT and Quality Testing/Validation Events to ensure timely resolution of issues assigned to their modules

  • Serves as a backup (tier 2 or 3) support on escalated customer issues and addresses them quickly before they become big

  • Conducts or participates in Early Warning Meetings during the product launch phase

  • Conducts or participates in NPI events and product improvement programs

REPORT GENERATION AND?COLLABORATION:?

  • Maintains and publishes weekly status report with predetermined KPIs?

  • If necessary, runs or participates in weekly meetings with other stakeholders to report out on assigned open issues

 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar field preferred

  • 7+ years in chip manufacturing, connected car or cellular network industries

  • Strong technical writing capabilities and oral communication skills

  • Working knowledge of PC and software (minimum: MS office intermediate level, in particular Power point and Excel)

  • Tech savvy and willing to apply latest technology, apps and connected car features

  • Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with internal and external partners

  • Solid team player and good communicator with desire to exceed given KPIs

  • High attention to detail with experience in a startup or fast paced environment is a plus

  • Strong believer in EVs with desire to exceed customer service expectations

  • Ability to travel for business?25%?of the time?including international trips
