Description

Position Summary: The Dispatch Manager provides expertise in Customer Service activities in a way that assures the customers’ expectations are consistently and satisfactorily achieved, and decisions are based on supporting the business objectives. This position is responsible for analyzing customer requirements and assigning/scheduling equipment as needed and for managing the day-to-day operations of the crews and equipment in the assigned area including on site employee training necessary to support our customers.

 
Position Requirements

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to manage crews and equipment in remote locations in order to meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Excellent communications skills including ability to directly and professionally interact with municipalities and customers as a representative of RoadSafe, including handling all project notifications to municipalities, knowledge and success with securing permits and general compliance with ordnances and other requirements
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and successfully exercise independent judgment and authority
  • Develop employee schedules and manage personnel on projects ensure that paperwork is timely completed.
  • Understand the labor needs of the project and schedules and coordinates outside labor needs
  • Plan and schedule projects in a cost effective and efficient manner
  • Assess abilities of employees and contribute to hiring and firing decisions
  • Understand this is a high demand management position and will be subject to being on call 24/7, working evenings, overnights, weekends, and may require extra work days at times to complete projects on time.
  • Primary customer contact at the day to day level during a rental engagement.
  • Ability to manage
  • Manage the daily dispatch of all equipment and activities of the drivers for the branch.
  • Assign equipment and/or operators ensuring the most economical and quickest methods are utilized.
  • Create work tickets in TCR and assigned to the appropriate driver.\
  • Maintain good communications with customers.
  • Strive to continuously improve the level of company profitability, understand impact of rental transactions, labor efficiency and their effect on profitability.

 

Additional Responsibilties:

  • Insures that all Company Policies and Procedures are followed precisely for the management of the rental equipment fleet.
  • Additional responsibilities as directed by Branch Manager
  • Insures the accuracy of the branch's rental/sales paperwork through research, resolution, and reconciliation of any discrepancies in systems used for parts, merchandise, and fleet inventory.
  • Insure timeliness of all rental fleet activities and reporting.
  • May assist in the coordination of rental fleet Cycle Counts and Physical Inventories.
  • Coordinate equipment transfers between divisions as needed to meet customer demand.

 

Requirements

  • Ability represent RoadSafe in a professional manner when interacting customers and agencies regarding scheduling, disputes, changes in scope of work, etc.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Highly experienced in MS Excel and Word
  • Computer training will be required for Viewpoint

 

Education and Experience:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates degree is preferred.
  • Must have Minimum 10 years Dispatching experience
  • Strong knowledge in all Microsoft products
  • Great communication skills
  • Must be able to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Bilingual is a plus!
